Role Overview

As the Intern - Business & Membership Services,

you will play an active role in supporting the Chamber’s operations across communications, events, member relations, and business services. You’ll gain practical experience within an international business environment and contribute directly to the Chamber’s mission of strengthening ties between France and Western Canada.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop professional skills while expanding your network within the vibrant Franco-Canadian business ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

Communications & Events:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Chamber events (networking, panels, luncheons, webinars)

  • Create content (e.g. newsletters, social media posts, website updates, promotional materials)

  • Support media relations and external communications

  • Monitor and report on communication metrics (e.g. open rates, social engagement)

  • Help maintain the Chamber calendar, send invitations, follow-up with registrants

Membership & Business Services:

  • Assist in onboarding new members/welcome communications

  • Maintain and update the member database / CRM system (accurate contact records, segmentation, renewal dates)

  • Act as point of contact for routine member inquiries (via email, phone)

  • Support renewal campaigns, including reminders, follow-ups, reporting

  • Help identify opportunities to provide additional or enhanced services to existing members

  • Assist in preparing reports / dashboards on membership metrics (growth, retention, satisfaction)

  • Coordinate with services-to-business team to match member needs with appropriate service offerings

Administrative & Supporting Tasks:

  • General administrative support: scheduling, filing, correspondence

  • Assist with budgeting and expense tracking for projects

  • Conduct research and benchmarking (e.g. comparative chambers, membership best practices)

  • Prepare presentations, summaries, and briefs for internal teams

  • Occasionally participate in meetings, take minutes, follow up on action items


Profile & Skills

Required:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or International Relations.

  • Excellent written and spoken English and French.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.

  • A proactive, curious, and detail-oriented mindset.

Assets:

  • Experience in event coordination, communications, or client-facing roles.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems or database management.

  • Knowledge of Canva or basic graphic design tools.

  • Interest in international business, trade, or economic development.
